They represent the old dream of the robot mimicking the behavior of human beings.
Chess, the noble game, became the impossible dream: the cognitive and motor skills of a player inside of a machine.... All a program.
From the Golem to the Milton Bradley Grand Master, what a journey...

The era of microcomputer was like a cave of Ali Baba: unveiling the craziest dreams.
I suppose that when David Levy was introduced to the project of Milton Bradley to create a robot playing chess, he had this strange feeling and immediately after "why not?"...

I invite you to see some of these beautiful pieces of history.
